So, if Marvel really does follow up with this story thread presented in the post-credits scene of Black Panther could we potentially see Bucky suit up as the White Wolf in Black Panther 2? While the story of the White Wolf in the MCU is slightly different it’s still being set up for Bucky to play a large role amongst the Wakandans under this new alias. When he became a man he was given the title of White Wolf, fighting alongside his African brother and sister against the foes of Wakanda. It is a reference to a different character in the. and a nod to the character Hunter from the comics. Screenrant gives a good explanation of why they went with calling Bucky that.

The White Wolf, in the comics, was adopted by the Wakandans as a child who grew up with T’Challa and Shuri. White Wolf is an actual character in Black Panther comics of a white kid that crashed in Wakanda and was taken under the wing of King T’Chaka. If you’re not familiar, the White Wolf is an important character in the Black Panther comics. Beyond the heartening fact that Bucky is finally okay the Wakandan children call Bucky the White Wolf. He has been freed of HYDRA’s mind control and now he’s recovering, using everyday chores and the friendship of the Wakandans to recuperate from the damage HYDRA has done to him. In the final post-credits scene in Black Panther, we learn that Bucky is living in Wakanda. However, it seems like common knowledge that the dead heroes will be resurrected in one form or another and so his story will continue, leading me to the topic of this post. And now he’s been killed thanks to Thanos completing his mission to wipe out half of all life. He has been a heralded American hero, a frightening villain, a fugitive, and an Avenger! You could safely say that he has had quite the tumultuous journey. While the story of the White Wolf in the MCU is slightly different it’s being set up for Bucky to play a large role under his new aliasīucky Barneshas been a prominent character in the MCU since his debut in Captain America: The First Avenger.
